Our guesthouse is located in the town of Naro Moru which is 1983 meters above sea level and the perfect starting base for your trek to Mt. Kenya. With it’s peak of 5199 meter, it’s the highest mountain of Kenya and the second largest mountain of Africa. Naro Moru is also the perfect stop-over for your visit to Samburu National Reserve, Lake Naivasha NP, Hell’s Gate NP or Aberdare NP.

At the Tree Hyrax Guesthouse we would like to offer you real Kenyan vibes. Our chef can cook you a traditional Kenyan meal or choose us for a nice hot meal, go on a hike or let us explore the local community.
The guesthouse consists of eight bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a computer room, game room for children, a communal living room are ready for your stay and don’t forget our garden where you can enjoy the peace of nature and of course the ever-singing birds. If you’re lucky you might even see the critically endangered mountain bongo or some black & white colobus monkeys hanging around.

If you’re ready for activity and adventure, Naru Moro can offer you lots. Go for a community visit around town, trek into the mountains and look for the animals. And for the real enthusiasts there’s a chance to climb the highest peak of Mt. Kenya.
But there’s more, the town of Naru Moro is the perfect stopover for your trip to and from Aberdare NP, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Naivasha or Hell’s Gate NP.
Go look for the rare and endangered Reticulated Giraffe in Samburu National Reserve or check out the ‘salt lick’ area in the Aberdare for black rhino!
