About Mt. Kenya National Park
With it’s peakat 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this UNESCO World Heritage Site is absolutely breath-taking. The park offers pristine wilderness with lakes, glaciers, caves, dense forest, mineral springs and a selection of rare and endangered species of animals, high altitude adapted plains game and unique montane and alpine vegetation.
Activities
Of course mountain climbing and hiking are the main activities at Mt. Kenya National Park but there is lot’s more to do!
There are caves to explore, birds to be watched and there’s game to viewed. So strap on your hiking boots, take your binoculars and you might spot one of Kenya’s most sought after birds like the Green Pigeon, Violet-backed Starling or Meyer’s Parrot. If you are more into big game, you can come across elephants, tree hyrax, blue monkeys, bushbucks, waterbucks, elands, leopards, black rhinos, buffaloes and many more!
